A three-day Trinidad and Tobago festival is coming to Toronto this weekend

Summer isn’t over yet! Turn up the heat this weekend at Toronto’s Nathan Phillips Square at the Trinbago Festival. It’s back this season, bringing the heat with delicious cuisine and live performances. Here’s what to know.

It’ll all be going down from Sept. 5 to 7, 2025. Nathan Phillips Square will host the three-day festival, presented by Trinidad Tourism Limited and supported by the Tobago Tourism Agency Limited and the Consulate General of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago in Toronto.

“Last year, we had an unbelievable festival weekend, with over 40,000 Trinbagonians and friends of Trinidad and Tobago flooding Nathan Phillips Square,” shares organizers.

“If you were there, we know that you would agree that there was something TRULY MAGICAL about having the red, white and black take over the heart of downtown Toronto for an entire weekend. We hope that the Festival will also inspire Trinbagonians and both old and new friends to ‘come home’ for an authentic Trinidad and Tobago experience.”

Not only will you be captivated by the delicious aroma of their food offerings, but you’ll also get lost in the rhythm of soca. And lots of it.

Soca superstar BENJAI will be performing on Saturday, including three-time Chutney Soca Monarch, Imran ‘GI’ Beharry.

The lineup of performers will be out of this world. The full list can be found online.

The festival is absolutely free to attend and is not one you would want to miss.

“Against the backdrop of Toronto’s City Hall, the stunning Water Fountain and iconic Toronto sign, the Trinbago Festival will celebrate us as Trinbagonians and bring us together to showcase our people’s warmth, ingenuity and resilience, the beauty of our twin islands, the vibrance of our cultural expressions, and the brilliance of our citizens here who fly our flag high every day,” adds organizers.

No weekend plans? Looks like you’re covered.
