A major track and field championship is coming to Edmonton for the first time in 20 years & tix are now on sale

It is one thing to cheer Team Canada from your couch. And a whole other level of exhilarating when you join the cheer in person on the field. Well, here is your chance to experience this exhilaration! For the first time in 20 years, a massive track and field championship is coming to Edmonton. Get ready for the Athletics Canada Warm-Up to Worlds Invitational!

Presented by Athletics Alberta, the iconic World Athletics Continental Tour Silver level event will take place on July 3 at Foote Field. And tickets are now on sale!

The championship will see top Canadian athletes compete with the very best of athletes from all over the world. Team Canada, including our very own Edmontonian legend, Marco Arop, will be seen competing in a variety of track and field events. Expect 100 m, 800 m, hurdles, relays and tons more.

While watching these world-class athletes up close, battling it out on the track and field sure is the main event, there’s plenty more to do.

In addition to the championship games, there will also be community fun activities. Think celebrity relay, Running Room relays, and Mini Legends kids’ races.

The sole drawback of this grand sporting event is that only 3,000 people can join the stands to witness what Explore Edmonton has dubbed ‘Fastest Day Ever’. Our suggestion, grab tickets for the fam and/or the squad while they are still available.

Warm-Up to Worlds Invitational

Where: Foote Field, 11601 68 Ave NW, Edmonton
