Get into cycling these past few years? You’re not alone, and maybe you’re thinking it’s time to test yourself a little bit. While marathons are a dime a dozen, cycling events are few and far between. And with L’Etape Canada coming to Edmonton this weekend, you’ve got a great opportunity to have some fun out there!
Turns out, L’Etape by Tour de France is a global series that allows fans and hardcore riders alike the chance to experience at least one version of the iconic race. Participating countries for L’Etape include Thailand, Australia, Portugal… and now, Canada is getting in on the mix.

The premise is simple, with amateur cyclists ranging from beginner to experts will be able to join in for a whole day of fun. Ranging from family-friendly options to 130 kilometre-long races, you’ll enjoy a route created by Tour de France experts starting in Edmonton and heading south then west. And yes, that’s pretty much the average length of a single stage in the Tour de France, which is a fun look at just how hard the competition is.
