Toronto’s getting two Pop-Up Chapels this spring & here’s where they’ll be

It’s almost wedding season, and following lockdowns, and many venues are backed up. Since the start of the pandemic, micro weddings have become even more popular. And those can be hosted at pop-up chapels!

The Pop-Up Chapel, which describes itself as the “Uber or Airbnb of weddings”, is a shared wedding concept that hosts wedding chapels across North America multiple times a year. The company says it will be coming to Toronto for several dates this spring!

According to The Pop-Up Chapel, they design “affordable weddings that are cooler than City Hall for millenials looking for an alternative to a traditional wedding.”

“Micro weddings offer a more affordable approach to weddings. The Pop-Up Chapel is the most inclusive way to get married, representing the true fabric of people in North America – it attracts lovers and couples of all kinds,” they state.

This year, Pop-Up Chapels are being held across Canada in Toronto, Vancouver, Ottawa and Hamilton.

And a portion of the proceeds ($300) will be going to local charities. To date, The Pop-Up Chapel has raised over $96,000 for charities including Sketch, Black Legal Action Centre, United Way, Evergreen Children’s Garden and more, and married over 325 couples during the pandemic.

The Pop-Up Chapel Co. Toronto dates for spring 2022 include:

May 19 at the BMO Atrium at Evergreen Brick Works
In Support of Evergreen Children’s Garden

Depending on the date and location, the wedding costs start at $3,199, and goes up from there. Spots fill up quick, and several days are already sold out, so be sure to check it out soon if you’re interested!
