Toronto’s getting a retro 1950s outdoor event this month & you’ll really dig it

You’ll really get your kicks from this far-out event! Dusty Star Drive-in is coming back for another weekend of greasy spoon-style grub and good times and there’s a whole lot more to enjoy this time around. In addition to the drive-in rollerskate diner experience, you’ll be able to reserve a picnic table for you and your gang to soak up the retro vibes.

The event takes place on the last weekend of September and it’ll feature live music from the rockabilly band The Ichi-Bons, eats from Canada’s top-voted food truck Fidel Gastro, a selection of beer from the local Mascot Brewery, and a night market to shop for all kinds of unique treasures.

Your 1-hour reservation can include up to 6 people per picnic table or per car, but you can totally stay longer to hit up the bar, rock out to some tunes, and do some market shopping.

There are also walk-in tickets available for just $8 each, without reserved seating but with parking available nearby. So if you’re tired of getting all dolled up with nowhere to go, you ought to check this place out.

To get your appetite going, here’s a little preview of what’s on the menu — a honey mustard fried chicken sandwich, a double smash burger with special sauce, and pad Thai fries. Oh boy, we’re salivating just thinking about it!

Take a look at the event page for all the details and to snag your tickets. And if you want to have some extra fun, you can rock a swing skirt or leather jacket to dress the part.

DUSTY STAR DRIVE-IN DINER
