It’s Thursday, Thursday, gotta get down on Thursday. Oh wait, do we have the wrong day? Good thing we’re actually going to be talking about Friday. And Saturday. And Sunday. Also, Monday, because it’s a long weekend! So many great things to do in Toronto over a long weekend. We can get down with all of that.

Here are 8 things to do in Toronto this Family Day long weekend.

DJ SKATE NIGHT AT NATHAN PHILLIPS SQUARE

Looking for a Valentine’s Day date idea that’s a little different from the typical romantic dinner? Head to Toronto’s favourite outdoor party! Dance on ice to the DJ coming to Nathan Phillips Square this Friday. Or if you’re like us, wobble on ice cause you haven’t skated since you were twelve and there are no walls to hold onto.

VALENTINE’S AFTERNOON TEA AT THE ST REGIS

For a classier Valentine’s affair, visit the St Regis and enjoy an afternoon tea with your sweetheart. Put your pinkies up because they have a menu full of delicious treats both sweet and savoury. Enjoy scones, tarts, Foie Gras, smoked trout and more, along with a selection of fine teas. This is the place to go if you want to impress your date with the fanciest of occasions. And that’s the tea! Hah.

THE MAC AND CHEESE FESTIVAL

We love mac and cheese. You love mac and cheese. Who doesn’t love mac and cheese? Come celebrate everyone’s favourite dish at festival dedicated to just that! They have over 40 over the top mac and cheese creations, games, contests and more. We’re putting on our stretchy pants cause we don’t want anything holding us back here.

TIFF NEXT WAVE

Check out some must-see flicks at TIFF’s Next Wave Film Festival. They’ve curated movie screenings, industry panels, and live music for a weekend full of film loving fun. Best part is, if you’re under 25 it’s completely free! Pass the popcorn, we’re going to the movies.

DIVERSITY OF LOVE AT THE ZOO

One more Valentine’s Day-themed event to round out the love filled weekend. Head to the Toronto Zoo for their event celebrating all the forms that love comes in! Your ticket includes hors d’oeuvres, a buffet dinner with dessert, a complimentary glass of sparkling wine, and interactive presentations. So cute!

She’s calling this the Sunshine Kitty Tour, which seems very fitting. Not that we know her, but we know her music, and it seems about right. She’s basically pop music, but R-rated.

ROM FAMILY DAY WEEKEND

Wanna take the kids and get out of the house on Monday? Kids can check out special exhibitions at the ROM for free with your general admission. Plent yof fun facts, live specimens, and hands-on activities!
