things to do this week

We made it through the long weekend! We hope you all took the time to get the R&R you deserve, ’cause the week is getting started and we’re about to fill it with tons of fun activities. It’s gonna be a busy one, Toronto. From whimsical escape rooms to workouts at the gym, there’s a little something for everyone! So strap on those adventure boots and let’s get to it.

Here are 12 things to do at home and around Toronto this week.

GO TO A WHIMSICAL ESCAPE ROOM

Here’s some fun for the whole friend group. Gather up 3-7 of your closest quarantine bubble buddies and head to the Daydream Adventures escape room. The spot just reopened and is back in business. It’s just like stepping right into a whimsical fairy tale! Good luck!

Where: 1803 Danforth Ave

STOP BY THE NEIGHBOURHOOD JOINT

This new Toronto cannabis store is unlike any other. They use a super cool pneumatic tube system to access all their products. Yeah, it’s like stepping right into the future when you visit this spot. Don’t believe us? You’ll just have to visit them and see for yourself.

Where: 1987 Queen St E

GO TO THE MOVIES

Have you been missing that authentic movie theatre experience? Yeah, us too. Good thing Cineplex just reopened 7 theatres across the GTA. You can catch films on the big screen at any one of these locations. Just make sure you wear a mask and social distance while you’re there.

HIT THE GYM

If you’re like us and took the “calories don’t count in quarantine” motto just a little too far, this is great news for you. A ton of GoodLife Fitness locations have just reopened so you can get off the couch that’s slowly become an extension of your own body and head on over to your nearest gym. Just make sure you book ahead and follow all the COVID-19 guidelines while you’re there.

GET YOUR TICKETS TO TIFF

Toronto’s most highly anticipated film event released its September lineup last week and it’s never too early to secure your tickets. This year’s Toronto International Film Festival is gonna look a little different from other years, but we’re sure it’s gonna be just as exciting. Let us know which flick you’re most looking forward to!

WATCH THE PLAYOFFS ON A PATIO

The NHL is back in full swing and if you’re wondering which patios are best to catch a game at, we’ve got your answer. There are tons of great spots around the city to enjoy a drink while you watch. But we think these places have really got the vibe down pat. Go Leafs Go!

SHOP FOR SOME REAL ESTATE

There’s nothing quite like dreaming about gorgeous real estate. And when it comes to Toronto homes, usually dreaming is about as far as we get. But did you know there are actually some properties within the GTA that are $750K? Now you do! Yeah, that’s still a pretty hefty price tag but at least it’s lower than the usual few million that Toronto spots cost.

Where: Peruse the properties here.

TOUR A MUSEUM

Wanna learn more about the history of your city? Good thing Toronto just launched the brand new initiative HistoricTO. You can go on tours of some of the city’s best museums and learn all about topics like colonization, urban development, immigrant, Indigenous, Black, LGBTQ2S+, and women’s history.

TRY A NEW HARD SELTZER

Want something new to crack open on the balcony this week? Ontario Beer Stores just debuted a brand new drink. And nope, it’s actually not a new brew. It’s a hard seltzer! It’s called Bangarang. And it’s got that cool, refreshing taste that’s perfect for the summer. Cheers!

Where: Find it at Ontario Beer Stores

WORK FROM HOME

Yeah, yeah, we know. This one’s boring. But it’s looking like it’s gonna be our reality for a little while longer, so we may as well accept it. In case you haven’t heard, new reports are saying that folks will be working from home in Ontario for longer than we might think. Yes, most of the province has moved into Stage 3 of reopening. But that doesn’t mean this pandemic is close to over. So if you’re still on the fence about investing in a new house/office plant, let this be your sign to do it.

Where: Your home.

GO TO THE BEACH

There no better place to spend the sunny days of summer than relaxing at the beach. And lucky for us, Toronto’s got a ton of ’em. From busy and bustling (6 feet apart though) to quiet and serene. There are definitely spots for whatever vibe you’re looking for. So pack up that bathing suit and slap on some sunscreen. The sunny shores are calling your name.

HEAD TO THE SPA

And in case the long weekend wasn’t enough R&R, why not take an afternoon to visit one of the best spas near the city? It’s only a short drive up to Blue Mountain’s Scandiave Spa. And you’ll be treated with most serene and relaxing environment. So book your slot and treat yourself this week!

Have a great week, everyone!
