The Drake Hotel is opening a retro lake escape
Toronto’s undoubtedly coolest hotel, The Drake, has a little sister coming. Everyone, meet Drake Motor Inn. She’s retro, she’s nostalgic, and she’s claimed a gorgeous spot in The County just for you.
Vague captions of “vroom vroom… something’s coming” have been teasing us for weeks on Drake Hotel’s Instagram. Is it a car? A boat? An electric scooter? While we were kinda hoping it went the electric scooter route, we’re pretty stoked about what was just announced!
Doors will be opening on a brand new 12-room motor in within Ontario’s amazing Prince Edward County. It’ll be a stone’s throw from Drake Devonshire, the country living middle child:
While the theme is totally retro, there are some awesome modern perks. Keyless, digital self check-in makes for breezy arrivals and bon voyages. Rooms are pet-friendly, and you can even rent a little bed for your pup.
A one-of-a-kind Drake vending machine serves guests a “most unique, Canadiana assortment of quirky shoppables and edibles.” The legal kind of edibles, we’re sure.
To top it off (and make it oh so social media friendly) you can borrow their complimentary vintage Polaroids to capture the memories.
After a long day running from beach to craft brewhouse to farm stand, you can put your feet up in the communal living room. Chill on the outdoor terrace, or next to the firepit. Eat made-from-scratch Drake Commissary snacks and laugh at your friends falling all over the free skating rink.
Vroom vroom, we’re on our way.
