Mississauga, it’s your time to shine! One of (if not the most) ambitious developments proposed in the GTA recently is coming to town.
Insauga reported that the project will be called Square One District, and it will be the largest mixed-use downtown development in Canadian history. Mississauga has been changing at the speed of light lately, and this is an exciting addition, to say the least!
What’s currently parking lots and under-utilized space will become residential space, transit, parks, progressive office space, and plenty of shopping. Pretty much a bit of everything, it seems.

Eric Plesman, Executive VP of North American Oxford Properties, spoke on the project. “The Square One District is unparalleled in its scale and ambition. The multi-billion dollar investment and goal is to create a true downtown for Mississauga.”
Expect plenty of new places to live- and soon! The first phase will be residential development, which is slated to begin this summer. The planning of this development is said to have taken years, and it will be a few more before it’s all said and done. However, we’re pretty excited to swing by and check it out when it’s done. We’re suckers for a good green space.
