We’d say something about ramen being a perfect winter comfort food dish, but we’re not going to pretend like we put any limit on when we eat ramen. It’s an ‘any day at any time’ sort of thing. This place is legendary for pork bone ramen, so you need to order the pork bone ramen. Don’t be too quick to run away if there’s a line- it’s there for a reason, and you’ll be glad you stuck it out! This is also a great spot if you’re into seafood- try the clam broth or lobster reduction broth.

Great ramen doesn’t have to break the bank. For a solid bowl without that $20 broth nonsense, head to Ramen Misoya! You can be in and out quickly if you’re squeezing in a lunch break, but it’s consistently good. The old faithful of ramen.

What makes this place so good (besides the creamy broth and the on-point pork slices) is the service. Always friendly and always attentive. try the Tonkotsu black for a delicious savoury bowl.

The atmosphere here is half the experience. It’s bright and relaxed, and you’ll get a traditional greeting and farewell when you come and go. Besides raving about the staff, we like to rave about the Tan Tan Men for a perfect creamy broth.

This spot became an instant success, namely for super-fast, affordable, delicious bowls. The tonkatsu black is insanely savoury. Black garlic oil is the key to our black hearts, that’s what we’ve learned here.

This place has a super-devoted following, and for good reason. It’s hard to find a dish we don’t like! Definitely try the Black Tan Tan and the karaage. Also, if you’re feeling extra fun, get the sake jelly shot. It’s a 5/5 for taste and absolutely guaranteed to spice up the evening.

This tried and true spot has all the components on lock. Perfectly cooked noodles, rich broth, and a wicked appetizer combo deal ($2 to add an app with your ramen). Definitely try the pork shoyu! Also, the tofu nuggets in the veggie ramen are A1.

This is the first Canadian outpost of a very popular Japanese brand, and we’ve gotta thank them for coming! It’s the best place to try Hakata-style ramen, with clear broth and thin noodles. Also, if you’re feeling brave you should dive into the black tonkatsu, which is infused with charcoaled garlic.
