It’s starting to get warm. Our skin is remembering what Vitamin D feels like. Memories of our tears freezing on our face as we scrape an inch of ice off our windshield are fading. Seeing our parka in the closet isn’t giving us flashbacks to polar vortex sorrows. Ah, summer! Canadians know how to embrace the warm season better than anyone else. So, make the absolute most of the sacred summer months with some of the greatest summer activities in Toronto! Vive la warmth!

VISIT THE LAVENDER FARM

terre bleu

Wide open spaces, a lot of purple, and air that smells so addictive you wonder if they’re distilling cocaine essential oils. Terre Bleu is open for the summer and ready to convince you that lavender ice cream is THE flavour.

Where: 2501 Sideroad 25, Milton

GET YOUR BUTT TO THE BEACH

Sand under your toes is the ketchup to the hotdog of summer. Which is a weird and roundabout way of saying it’s essential that you enjoy the beach in its glorious unfrozen state.

Where: Try Woodbine Beach, 1675 Lake Shore Blvd E, or head out to the Muskokas

EAT ALL THE SUMMER THINGS

tom's dairy freeze cone

Sipping blended beverages or going mouth-first into an ice cream cone doesn’t feel good in January. It feels phenomenal in July though, so you should get yourself to some of Toronto’s favourite ice cream shops.

Where: Try Tom’s Dairy Freeze at 630 The Queensway, Etobicoke

WATCH OUTDOOR MOVIES

outdoor movies

Toronto has a weirdly huge amount of outdoor movie screenings this summer. We aren’t mad about it, because it makes having a late movie night that much more summery and special.

Where: The Open Roof screenings will take place on Sterling Rd, across from MOCA. Many more here!

GO MARKET (S)HOPPING

market

Shopping without Sorrels on your feet or a jacket the size and caliber of a sleeping bag on your arm is so much easier. Float around some of Toronto’s summer markets to get your shopping done!

TAKE A WINERY TOUR
