This TO non-profit is keeping the front lines fed
Our favourite things to write about these days are the many ways that people have been coming together to help out in this time of need. And today, we’re back with another! Drumroll, please… This one is a non-profit called Meals to Heal! And it’s a Toronto based initiative that brings food straight to the frontline fighters of COVID-19.
Here’s how it works. Meals to Heal raises donations from the lovely citizens of Toronto. Then, that money is used to purchase meals from local restaurants and coffee shops. After that, the food is all packed up and delivered to hospitals to fuel the incredible staff who are keeping all of us safe! Thanking frontline workers AND supporting local businesses? It’s a double-whammy of kindness!

At the time that this is being written, they’ve already raised over $7,400! Which translates to about 615 meals! Some of the hospitals they’ve delivered to are Mount Sinai, Toronto Western, Toronto General, and Princess Margaret Hospitals. All while supporting local TO favs like iQ Food Co., Parallel Brothers, Daily Press Juicery, and Maker Pizza. Let’s all pause and give a virtual round of applause for this amazing initiative.
But of course, to keep up with these incredible acts of kindness, they need support from folks like you. So why not head on over to the Meals to Heal website and donate if you’re able to. It’s an awesome way to say thank you to the people working tirelessly to keep us all safe and healthy!
