Well, it’s that time of the month again, and Netflix Canada has released their lineup for everything coming to the platform for June. This month is going to see a little bit of everything. We’re talking documentaries, animated shows, comedies… the list goes on.

Like previous months, we’re picking our top choices before we give you the rest of the list.

June 1

Apocalypse Now (1979) – Possibly the best movie made about the insanity of the Vietnam War.
Inception (2010) – But what if we went one level deeper??
Jurassic Park (1993) – A clever move from a clever corporation.
Police Academy (1984) – So you wanna be a cop, huh? Well, first you gotta make it through training.

June 5

Black Mirror Season 5 (Netflix Series) – Imagine if you took sociology then just got really bummed about the future and also were a showrunner.
Do the Right Thing (1989) – Imagine if you took sociology then just got really motivated to speak out against racism and also could make a movie.
Role Models (2008) – Any movie that includes LARPing is something we’re going to sign off on.

June 7

The Black Godfather (Netflix Original) – Learn about Clarence Avant, one of the men responsible for bringing ‘black music’ into the mainstream.
The Chef Show (Netflix Series) – Join Jon Favreau as he messes around with famous chefs and celebrities.

June 11

Baby Driver (2017) – But the main character isn’t even a baby! We want our two hours back.

June 12

Rolling Thunder Revue: A Bob Dylan Story (Netflix Original) – Martin Scorsese looks back at the iconic 1975 tour of the same name.

June 14

Aggretsuko Season 2 (Netflix Series) – A red panda working as an accountant sings death metal at karaoke bars to ease the burden of daily life. We can relate.

June 19

The Edge of Democracy (Netflix Original) – A documentary about the limits (and potential fall) of democracy? Heck, why not!

June 22

The Avengers (2012) – The ensemble film that started the final push of the most successful franchise in history. Don’t spoil it for us! We still haven’t seen The Hulk with Edward Norton.
