The wait is over: Drake Underground is finally reopening

Via Drake Underground

The basement that never sleeps is back, baby! After an extended break due to flood damage, one of Toronto’s very best bars/music venues is opening it’s doors again.

Drake Underground has long been an absolute fixture in the music scene in Toronto. It’s been hosting live music, comedy, DJ dance parties, and film screenings every night of the week for years (hence the never sleeping thing).

You just may have heard of some of Drake’s alumni. Acts like Vance Joy, Beck, and Diplo graced Drake Underground at the start of their careers.

Our beloved weekend (and weeknight) spot had a catastrophic drainage issue in August that left the club unusable. Bless whatever insurance they have, because Drake Underground is back, and in fact, even better.

While the essence of the place was left unchanged, albeit thoroughly dried out, some upgrades were made in the downtime. New art and some refurbishing were added. Most importantly, a new bar was added. Hallelujah!

Feeling well-rested after 6 months of closure, it’s time to come back with a bang. Expect no cover, throwback drink specials, and a party that continues all weekend long!
