Toronto FC is heading to the MLS Cup in Seattle next week!

Guess what folks, our very own Toronto FC is off to Seattle next week to play against the Sounders in the 2019 MLS Cup. Fun fact- this is the first time in Seattle’s history that they’re both hosting the championship game and playing for it.

It will also be the 3rd time in 4 years that Toronto FC takes on Seattle for the championship. Seattle won the first game in 2016, then we returned the favour in 2017. So, this year is kind of like a tie-breaker.

But, both of those games were played at BMO Field, and analysts think that home-field advantage is going to be beneficial for the Sounders this go around. We agree- there’s nothing like the thrill of the hometown crowd during championships.

Toronto FC is no stranger to an uphill battle, though.

The Sounders came in second place in the Western Conference before beating Dallas, Salt Lake and finally LA in playoffs to earn their spot in the final. Meanwhile, Toronto came in 4th in the East but beat DC, New York and finally Atlanta (who came in 1st for the season).

We’ve got two underdogs going head to head for the 3rd time in 4 years? This is going to be one for the ages.
