5 magical things to do at the amazing Aurora Winter Festival
Resist the urge to spend winter hiding inside all day, and go get a taste of the magical Aurora Winter Festival! It’s basically like Elsa and Santa made a festival baby. Oh god, wait, we take that back. We don’t want that mental image!
So, here’s the deal. The festival has five main components of mystical winter wonderfulness.
1. THE MYSTICAL WORLDS
Explore each themed area: Arctic Retreat, Candy Cane Lane, Luminous Gardens, and the Whimsical Forest. Each is decorated fully to be an immersive experience. We applied to be one of the elves, but they haven’t gotten back to us yet.
2. RIDES AND GAMES
The price of admission is already worth it for a night of sliding down the tube track, if you ask us. As well, there’s a Ferris wheel, carousel, and more rides to enjoy! We just can’t do the spinning strawberry. Our stomach is tender.
3. THE NORTH POLE
You know in Elf when Buddy’s like, “OH MY GAAAWD IT’S SAAANTAAA!”? That’s us here. Meet the man himself for photos, or settle down for Santa storytime. If storytime isn’t your thang, go dance in the Disco Den!
4. THE VILLAGE
This is where you stuff your face and then wash it down with mulled wine. Feel free to do a little shopping on the Main Street market, or ease your hot-chocolate filled body down to relax with a live performance.
5. FROZEN POND
You know what’s better than biffing it in private? Biffing it in front of the entire Aurora Winter Festival, on ice. Sharpen those blades and hope for the best when you take to the skating pond.
