Toronto Pearson Airport is expecting delays and cancellations due to storm & here’s how to check your flight status

If you have a flight out of Toronto Pearson Airport today, you may want to check its status. Especially if it is later in the day. Due to an approaching winter storm, the airport states that it is expecting delays and cancellations.

“A winter storm is in the forecast for today. Delays and cancellations are expected so please check your flight status with your airline,” states their website.

According to Environment Canada, up to 20 cm of snow is expected between Wednesday and Thursday morning. “Rapidly accumulating snow will make travel difficult,” they state, as road conditions are expected to be impacted.

Toronto Pearson Airport states that it uses “state-of-the-art equipment to keep the runways clear so aircraft can land and take-off safely during winter,” adding that extra staff are scheduled if snow is in the forecast.

But, they also say that “if you’re travelling this winter, it’s important to know that snow, ice and extreme cold weather can impact flights.”

So before heading out, you can check your flight status through the departures at the airport. The website shows all departing flights, and you can find yours through the destination, flight #, or airline.

Safe travels out there!
