A massive two-day plant sale is coming to Toronto this weekend

It’s time to stock up on spring greens! The annual Toronto Botanical Garden Plant Sale is returning this weekend.

The weekend-long sale is “filled with a thoughtful selection of top-performing and ethically sourced plants from reliable growers,” says a description by TBG.

Shop among a large variety of flowering annuals, herbaceous perennials,  pollinator plants, small trees, shrubs, and so much more.

There will also be horticulture staff and Toronto Master Gardeners on-site to offer gardening advice and help you select the right plants for your home garden, terrace, or balcony.

TBG suggests bringing old plant trays, bins, or cardboard trays to help you gather and transport your plants home.

The garden also happily accepts donations of old plant trays as well.

A limited supply of wagons and carts will be available for you to gather your plants while you shop.

However, if you have your own wagon or cart you are welcome to bring it.

Also coming up this month is the first Toronto Flower Market event of the season.

This annual outdoor market is Toronto’s first event of its kind, with a wide variety of Ontario-grown plants and flowers ready to be taken home and enjoyed.

The Toronto Flower Market is held each month from May through October, plus special events throughout the year.

Speaking of flowers, you will definitely want to take a stroll on the TBG grounds before or after your shopping excursion to see the gorgeous flowers in bloom on the four-acre property.

Also taking place at the botanical garden in May are the Farmers Market and the Toronto Bonsai Society Spring Exhibition and Sale — all the details can be found here.

Happy shopping, plant-lovers of Toronto!
