New list reveals top employers in Canada for young people in 2023

From tuition assistance to work-study programs, Canada’s Top 100 employers for young people has released its annual list, and here’s what you should know.

The annual list, announced on January 24, recognizes employers from across the country, that offer the best workplaces and programs for young people who have recently started their careers. Employers were evaluated by the editors of Canada’s Top 100 Employers based on the programs and benefits they have “to attract and retain younger workers.”

Benefits can include co-op or work-study programs, paid bonuses, courses or professional designations, career management programs, and more. The other factor editors look at is the average age of employees at each employer “to better understand the composition and profile of their workforce.”

As for those who made the list, you’ll find that several big-name employers like CIBC were added and recognized for their workplace, for their 11th consecutive year.

“We are honoured to be recognized for supporting and investing in the next generation of young Canadians entering the workforce,” said Sandy Sharman, Group Head of People, Culture and Brand. “At CIBC, we are proud to have a purpose led-culture where team members from all walks of life can achieve their career ambitions.”

Now without further ado, here’s a list of employers that were included:
