TIFF just revealed all the biggest stars coming to Toronto starting next week

With the start of the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) just a few days away, the word is officially out about which celebrities will make their way to the city. TIFF has released a list of the local and international talent that will be attending this year’s festival and we’re already feeling starstruck.

First, there’s the star-studded cast of The Eyes of Tammy Faye, including Jessica Chastain, Andrew Garfield, and Vincent D’Onofrio. TIFF also announced that Sigourney Weaver of The Good House, Richard Jenkins of The Humans, and Dear Evan Hansen’s Ben Splatt and Stephen Chbosky will be gracing the red carpet.

And it doesn’t stop there! Benedict Cumberbatch, Keira Knightley, and Lily Rose-Depp, each starring in two different TIFF films, will be attending. Owen Teague, Haley Lu Richardson, Dionne Warwick, and director Denis Villenueve are also among the biggest names, of which there are dozens. The festival released a list of all the talent that has RSVP’d yes so far, but it’s subject to change.

In other exciting news, TIFF will be hosting a surprise screening of a never-before-seen film directed by the renowned Steven Soderbergh. The collaboration is top-secret and the mystery will be unveiled “at a later date,” says the festival. You’ll have to stay tuned for details about the tickets because it’s all still under wraps.

The festival, which runs from September 9th to the 18th, will be a combination of digital programming and in-person screenings at outdoor, indoor and drive-in venues around the city. All guests will be required to show proof of full COVID-19 vaccination to be able to see the films in person, or proof a negative test within 48 hours of the event.

After last year’s hiatus, there’s sure to be a lot of buzz and excitement as the festivities begin. Hopefully, the beautiful weather sticks around for our famous guests!
