TIFF’s closing weekend in Toronto includes free movies & here’s where to catch them

Can you believe it’s the closing weekend of TIFF, Toronto?! The film festival is coming to an end but there are still festivities happening over the next few days including some free film screenings. Yep, you can enjoy these final TIFF moments without spending a penny.

Where and when

The free screenings are part of Cinema Park at David Pecaut Square.

Cinema Park was set up throughout the entire festival and is at the heart of all the action.

The free open-air cinema plays films each evening once it gets fully dark out, usually around 10:00 PM.

Getting to David Pecaut Square is pretty easy, located right on King Street West just west of St Andrews station.

What’s playing?

If you’re sold on the idea then you’ll be even more excited to know that the movies playing this weekend are crowd pleasers.

On Friday, September 13th the free movie is the original “Karate Kid” while the Saturday showing is one of my favourites, “Pitch Perfect”.

What to bring

According to TIFF, you’ll want to pack your own blankets. The venue has chairs you can borrow but you’re also welcome to bring your own.

Oh, and do NOT forget the snacks!!

We hope you take advantage of this fun and free way to celebrate the final days of TIFF, Toronto!

Cinema Park at David Pecaut Square

When: Friday, September 13th & Saturday, September 14th around 10:00 PM
Where: David Pecaut Square, 215 King St W
