We have a fun tidbit in Vancouver’s saga of overpriced real estate. Because it turns out 3 empty lots in West Point Grey are for sale for a whopping $88 million. But hey, are we surprised? No, not at all.

Now, these three lots in West Point Grey have the redeeming factor of being on the water. Not to mention they all have access to Jericho Beach, Locarno Beach, and Spanish Banks. And each lot is a funky shape with a house proposed for each property.

But if we had hundreds of millions or billions to spend we’d probably buy all three and just build one house. Because in total, the lots come to 220,112 square feet or just over 5 acres. And not many people can say they own 5 acres in Vancouver. Just think of all the things you could do with that space.

The other possibility (and more likely one) is that these lots are sold one by one. The largest lot has a proposed 19,955 square foot home, with 9 bedrooms, 12 bathrooms, a swimming pool, 3 garages, and 2 large motor courts. You can break off that chunk of property for a cool $52 million.

The second-largest lot is up for $35 million, and the proposed home would also feature 19,955 square feet of living space, with 7 bedrooms, 12 bathrooms, a swimming pool, 3 garages, and a sports court. Finally, the smallest lot is being offered on its own for $12 million, and the proposed home would have 10,000 square feet of space, 4 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms, a swimming pool, 2 garages, and a large motor court. Needless to say, all of these are going to be impressive properties.

Or imagine if the owner of these properties donated the land to the city and we got another park. But let’s face, this city loves money and the destiny of these properties is probably yet another McMansion. If you’d like to check out the listings you can click here.

And if you end up buying one or all of the plots, let us know. We’re curious to see what one would do with all that land. With that, have a great week Vancouver.
