This year’s week-long Summer Serenades in Prince’s Island Park is a can’t-miss music fest

It’s been a looooong, hard year, and few people know that better than event and festival organizers. The Calgary Folk Music Festival is one example, but they’ve put together a new selection of programming to ensure this year, the 42nd annual event, is one to remember. Let’s take a look at Summer Serenades, presented by ATB.

From July 22nd – 28th, Calgary will be treated to a series of live concerts under the big Alberta sky and the gorgeous Calgary skyline. Obviously, things are a little different this year. But trust us when we say you’re going to love this experience.

The Calgary Folk Festival has always been very chill, but it’s about to take things to the next level. This year, at Summer Serenades presented by ATB, a B.Y.O.T. (Bring Your Own Tarps) initiative will begin.

What does this mean? Good question! When you buy tickets to this year’s festival, you’ll be buying them “by the tarp”. Each tarp plot will fit up to 4 adults and 2 children (12 and under) with a 2-metre distance between each plot.

There is a tiered pricing structure so you can find a ticket price that matches your budget, and plenty of health and safety practices underway to ensure every festival-goer is feeling safe and ready to vibe out.

Now, how about the performances? This year’s Summer Serenades concert series features a diverse group of 36 enticing Canadian artists. From classic rockers to folksy newcomers, there really is something for everyone.

Some of the headlining artists are:
