This stunning lodge close to Lake Louise is the ultimate Rocky Mountain getaway

The lodge boasts 31 rooms in 23 cabins along the river, each equipped with gas or wood-burning fireplaces, walk-out decks, and deep soaker tubs. Where food is concerned, Cathedral Mountain Lodge has made sure that if the beautiful scenery and cabins weren’t enough to hook you, the food sure would be. With their Executive Chef Steven Lay servin’ up incredible meals featuring fresh local ingredients and organic dishes, as well as a market-fresh breakfast each morning, the Riverside Dining Room’s menu is just as satisfying and beautiful as the Rocky Mountain setting they’re served within.

Located in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, just 15 minutes from Lake Louise, Cathedral Mountain Lodge is central to the activities of four national parks: Yoho, Banff, Jasper and Kootenay. So as far as things to do, the list is pretty endless.

Boating and Rafting

In addition to complimentary daily canoeing on Moraine Lake, lodge guests can easily check out Lake Louise for some peaceful boating, or turn up the excitement with some great whitewater rafting on the Kicking Horse River. 

Hiking and Climbing

With over 500 km of hiking trails surrounding the lodge, finding a spot to explore is certainly no issue. From the Iceline and Yoho Valley trails, to guided hikes to the Burgess Shale UNESCO World Heritage Site. Adventure is right outside your cabin door!

Fishing

If fishing is your thing, then you’re going to wanna bring all your rods for this trip. With enough fly-fishing, lake and river fishing to please even the most avid fishers, just remember to grab a National Park fishing permit before you do!

With its prime spot amongst the Rocky Mountains, Cathedral Mountain Lodge guests basically have their pick when it comes to day trips nearby.
