This is your last chance to see a stunning ‘Optical Art’ exhibit in Vancouver

Got any plans this Easter weekend? If not, it might be a good idea to check out the Vancouver Art Gallery because it’s the last weekend for their very cool Victor Vasarely exhibit.

The exhibit closes this Monday and it’s well worth seeing. And seeing is a big part of the experience because it’s “optical art.” While yes, most art is “optical,” but Vaserly’s pieces are chock full of fun illusions and tricks for the eye.

Vasarely, who was born in 1906 and died in 1997, is the father of optical art and is world-famous for his geometric shapes and vibrant colours. It’s the type of art that sort of hypnotizes the viewer with its simple designs. Basically, it needs to be experienced.

If you want to get in before the exhibit closes, the Art Gallery of Vancouver is open all long weekend and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with Friday’s hours being 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.

You can also learn more about the exhibit and the artist right here.
