In case you didn’t know, November is National Native American Heritage Month. And while we’re a bit late, we thought it was important to inform you of an amazing tool. The Native Land Map tool shows you the territory that you reside on.

Why is this is important to know? Well, the easiest answer is ultimately because nearly all of us are settlers on this land. And with that in mind, the real history of the land that we live on has been largely whitewashed. So it’s important to take the time to learn whose land you live on and how you can give back.

So all you have to do is type your address into this tool and you’ll learn about the territories, treaties, and languages that exist where you live. And best of all, this data also extends to many areas around the world. So if you have international friends you can also get them to check it out!

Not to mention, now and always is a great time to give back to local Native American groups and organizations. It is the giving season after all.JTNDZGl2JTIwaWQlM0QlMjJtb2JpbGUtYWQtb25seSUyMiUzRSUwQSUzQyUyMS0tJTIwU2VhdHRsZSUyMC0lMjBNb2JpbGUlMjAtLSUzRSUwQSUzQ2lucyUyMGNsYXNzJTNEJTIyYWRzYnlnb29nbGUlMjIlMEElMjAlMjAlMjAlMjAlMjBzdHlsZSUzRCUyMmRpc3BsYXklM0FibG9jayUzQndpZHRoJTNBMzIwcHglM0JoZWlnaHQlM0E1MHB4JTNCJTIyJTBBJTIwJTIwJTIwJTIwJTIwZGF0YS1hZC1jbGllbnQlM0QlMjJjYS1wdWItNTUyMTg1Njk1NTQ5NzQ1NiUyMiUwQSUyMCUyMCUyMCUyMCUyMGRhdGEtYWQtc2xvdCUzRCUyMjE2MjcxNzI5NDclMjIlM0UlM0MlMkZpbnMlM0UlMEElM0MlMkZkaXYlM0U=
