This brand new Calgary shop has a Build-A-Bear-type concept but for plants

They say there’s nothing more rewarding than bringing a life into the world, but traditional parenting just isn’t for everyone – that doesn’t mean that the thought of creating something in your own image is any less appealing though. This weekend, those who are the vert-thumb type are encouraged to check out Plantsie, a new Build-A-Bear-type plant shop in Calgary where you can make your very own dream greenie.

So how exactly does this inventive concept work? Well, first thing’s first – you’ve got to find the place!

Located in Inglewood (at the address below), shoppers can check out plantsie from Mondays to Saturdays between 10 am and 4 pm.

Once you’re there it’s honestly as simple as 2, 3, 4!

All you have to do is choose one of their many leaf babies, pick a pot from their wide selection, give it a name, a personality (yes, seriously – they have everything from powerhouse to optimist) and then take it home to meet its fellow ferns, ficus’s, figs and friends.

This is the city’s first and only concept quite like this – so we’d definitely recommend checking it out, especially this weekend! After all, who doesn’t love a good grand opening?

Hopefully, we’ll see you out there, Calgary – but if not, have fun, get messy and let those creative juices flow!
