Alright, youngins – hold on to your hats, because we’re about to blast to the past! Although our parents were far too busy listening to Bon Jovi and inhaling hairspray to have kids until the early ’90s, we’re still pretty confident in saying that headbangers and Prince groupies alike freaking loved skiing in the ’80s.

From movies to music videos, it’s pretty clear that hitting the hill was the thing, and from the outside looking in, it seems as though it really didn’t get cooler than a trip to hotspots like Sunshine Village Ski Resort in Alberta.

Don’t believe us? Just watch this retro commercial for the winter destination below!

Get into a holly jolly state of mind with this vintage Christmas Market

These 30 seconds of absolute gold start off with a catchy tune (written by someone who without a doubt popped the collar of his Jackson pleather jacket) before transitioning into guests having the time of their lives.

There are mustache’s, unbeatable prices, a blink and you’ll miss it appearance from several knockoff Hanna-Barbera cartoon characters – as well as various tightly fitted ski suits.

There’s fun, sun and shades, tricks, bikini tops, and choreographed dances, as well as a glimpse of what the resort looked like way back when – which is also pretty cool. But above all… there are people smiling – which proves our point and takes us back – far before we were even born – to a simpler (far cheaper) time.

We’ve come a long way, folks, and we hope that this Sunshine Village commercial is a reminder of that, who knows, maybe we’ll look back and think the same about the world as we know it today.
