NorthwestFest

One of Edmonton’s longstanding film festivals, NorthwestFest, is back this April for more excellent indie filmmaking. Now, it includes not only the best of local and international indie filmmaking, but local music, art, and media.

Bountiful Farmers Market

Home to over 120 different vendors, more than 80 per cent of those vendors are local, who make, bake, and grow their own products. This year-round market offers so much more than you could ever imagine, so you’ll just have to check it out yourself.

Explore the Telus World of Science

This is Edmonton’s science centre, with feature displays, interactive learning opportunities, and so much more. Here, you can even catch a movie in IMAX or participate in their Friday Night Trivia.

How to Train Your Dragon in Concert

A live symphony orchestra will accompany a screening of How to Train Your Dragon, a movie whose score was Academy Award-nominated. This activity mixes everything kids and adults both love.

Old Strathcona Farmers Market

This market in Old Strathcona has been around for ages, and it’s Edmonton’s most premier farmers market. Being the original year-rounder, this place offers the best locally grown and made goods as well as trinkets you won’t be able to find anywhere else.

Queen Mary’s Market

Queen Mary’s Market is located in the heart of Edmonton, and here, there are over 130 vendors, as well as five individual restaurants within the building. This market takes on strong local vendors with a selection of antiques, rare collectibles, local produce, artisanal goods, and services.
