10 of the best things to do in and around Vancouver this weekend (Feb. 13-15)

Welcome to the first long weekend of the year, Vancouver! There are tons of Valentine-themed festivities, family-friendly events, and exciting Fan Expo opportunities to meet the creatives behind some of your favourite on-screen moments. Bundle up for the rain, and consider checking out some of these fun things to do in and around Vancouver this weekend (Feb. 13 to 15).

Fan Expo Vancouver

If you’re looking for other fun-filled events that let you meet some of your fave actors/celebrities, Fan Expo has three days of jam-packed events to choose from, and it all kicks off on Valentine’s Day.

When: Saturday, Feb. 14 to Monday, Feb. 16, 2026
Time: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, and until 5 p.m. on Sunday and Monday

Mozart’s Così fan tutte – Vancouver Opera 

The Vancouver Opera is back with the classic tale of Così fan tutte by Mozart, originally premiering in Vienna in 1790. The classic tale features two couples who are put to the test of fidelity by the mischievous duo, cynical Don Alfonso and maid Despina. The three-hour show is filled with some of the most beautiful music ever composed, yet it still brings plenty of laughs to the centre stage at Queen Elizabeth Theatre.

Ghost: Skeletour World Tour 2026 

Ghost is a popular Swedish heavy metal band known for being masked and anonymous, and blending occult themes with theatre and hard rock. Led by Tobias Forge, the band is now on their Skeletour World Tour following the release of the Skeletá album.

Moonstruck Valentine 

The H.R. MacMillan Space Centre is hosting a spellbinding event on the night of Valentine’s Day that space enthusiasts won’t want to miss. Bespoke cocktails, delectable bites, curated vendors, a live quartet performance, and the pull of the moon and stars at the planetarium all await.

When: Saturday, Feb. 14, 2026
Time: 6 to 10 p.m.

Just For Laughs Vancouver

Just For Laughs Vancouver is turning 10 this year, and to celebrate, the iconic comedy festival has what is perhaps its most star-studded lineup yet. From David Letterman to Atsuko Okatsuka to Zach Galifianakis, there are tons of big-name comics doing sets at this year’s festival.

When: Thursday, Feb. 12 to 22, 2026

Single, Not Single at the Improv Centre

Want to put a new relationship to the test, expose a situationship, or just have a laugh watching others do it? The Improv Centre on Granville Island has a show running on Fridays and Saturdays that explores the ups and downs of relationships, or lack thereof. No matter what your relationship status is, it’s bound to be a blast.

When: Fridays and Saturdays until Feb. 28, 2026

Vancouver Hot Chocolate Festival 

It’s the final days of this year’s Vancouver Hot Chocolate Fest, so if there’s a specific creation you want to try, now is the time! With 234 different flavours and 100 vendors to choose from, you’ve got plenty of options.

Paint Your Valentine at Luppolo Brewing

Luppolo Brewing and Full of Craft are collaborating on a special evening where you can paint your Valentine, be it your partner, a friend, a family member, or a small group. Tickets are $25 for two, and include all art materials. Perfect for date nights of all kinds, whether painting is your forte or not!

Ore and Orcas at Britannia Mine Museum

The Britannia Mine Museum has a special exhibit on copper contamination and how it affects organisms at every stage of the marine food chain, from plankton to local orca populations.

In addition to a 75-minute guided tour of the museum, admission includes access to this fascinating temporary exhibit, which includes a display of specimens from Howe Sound, such as a real killer whale skeleton.

Love Lights at Capilano Suspension Bridge 

The iconic Capilano Suspension Bridge has transformed for Valentine’s Day with whimsical, romantic lights and decor through Feb. 22, 2026. Love Lights is the perfect backdrop for date night, but it can just as easily be a cute Galentine’s Day excursion or family outing this long weekend.
