10 things to do in and around Calgary this November

November is almost here, Calgary! It’s a time of reflection and growth — maybe even a fun activity or two.

That’s where we come in. Luckily, there’s plenty to do in and around the city this month, including food festivals, live opera, and the return of Zoolights, an annual Calgary tradition.

Plus, there will be a holiday or two on the calendar, with Día de Muertos on Nov. 1 and Remembrance Day on Nov. 11, a statutory holiday.

Calgary Opera presents Madama Butterfly

A young Japanese woman falls for an American naval officer who promises more than he delivers. This reimagining of Puccini’s beloved classic is told through the real stories of Japanese war brides in this transporting tale with a gutting conclusion.

Indulge in a five-course farm-to-fork dinner prepared by local chefs, all while dining in a century-old beehive kiln! Forty-eight guests are invited to eat and cheer inside this historic beehive kiln that was used to fire pottery in the early 1900s.

This dinner is hosted alongside the Southern Alberta culinary event, Savour Alberta’s South: Farm to Fork. Local restaurants will partner with local producers in this foodie festival running from Nov. 1 to 21, 2025.

Millarville Christmas Market

The Millarville Christmas Market was established in 1988 and is one of the premier craft and artisan shows in Alberta.

Field of Crosses

The Field of Crosses Memorial is on display between Nov. 1 and 11 each year. The public is welcome to walk amongst the crosses 24/7 and partake in a series of events honouring and remembering those who gave their lives.

YYC Noodle Festival

Zoolights at the Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo

Over 2 million lights and 200 displays will light up the night sky at the Calgary Zoo in this colourful annual holiday tradition.

Wordfest Presents Alan Doyle

Inglewood Holiday Night Market
