10 things to do in and around Seattle this week (August 26-30)

The time has come for the last week of August! We have a mostly sunny week ahead, so there’s no better time to get out and enjoy the last days of summer. From baseball to Metallica, and a block party, there are quite a few things to check out in the city. Here are 10 things to do in and around Seattle this week!

Seattle Mariners

Kick off the last week of August at the Mariners game! They have three home games against the Tampa Bay Rays, and they’re all Mariners Value Games which means $10 tickets!

Seattle Storm

Another team in town with home games this week is the Seattle Storm. On Monday, they play the Washington Mystics, on Wednesday they face Atlanta Dream, and on Friday you can catch them against the New York Liberty.

Dancing ‘til Dusk

After weeks of Dancing ’til Dusk, the summer programming is wrapping up this week on Tuesday. Catch the Elnah Jordan Experience with some swing & blues on Tuesday.

Candlelight: A Tribute to Queen and More

Have you checked out a candlelight concert yet? These experiences bring the magic of a live, multi-sensory musical experience to awe-inspiring locations, and this week you can catch the music of Queen and More at Sparkman Cellars.

When: Wednesday, August 28th, 2024

Downtown Summer Sounds

From hip-hop and folk-pop to psychedelic punk rock and bluegrass, there’s something for everyone at Downtown Summer Sounds, and there are still some shows to catch. This week, you can see Khu.éex’ and catch the Downtown Summer Sounds Wine Grove & After Party at Occidental Square.

Kings of Leon

Kings of Leon is bringing their “Can We Please Have Fun” tour to Seattle, with Phantogram. And if you’re looking for tickets, there are still lots and they start at $39.50.

Center City Cinema

We’re not ready for summer to end, or these outdoor movies to stop! This week, Jaws will be screening at Lake Union Park. Not only will there be food trucks on site, non-motorized boats and floats are welcome.

Metallica

A legendary band coming to the city is Metallica, and probably one of the most anticipated concerts in Seattle this month! Get ready for 2 nights, 2 different sets, and 2 different opening acts! Night 1 is on Friday August 30, 2024 with Pantera / Mammoth WVH, while night 2 is on Sunday, September 01, 2024 with Five Finger Death Punch / Ice Nine Kills.

Seattle Waterfront Block Party

Looking to close out summer (and this week) with a block party? Seattle’s Waterfront Block Party will be the place to be, and the best part is, it is a free celebration!

Washington State Fair

The Washington State Fair or Puyallup Fair for real Washingtonians is probably the biggest fair of the year. It’s your classic American state fair experience with plenty of farm animals, rides, live performances, and, of course, fair food.
