Who’s ready for the long weekend?! It’s been an amazing month so let’s end it strong. The city of Toronto is bringing all the fun from concerts to festivals. If you haven’t started making plans this is your sign. These are 14 things to do in Toronto this Labour Day weekend.

2024 Dragon Festival 

Coined as one of Ontario’s largest events, the Dragon Festival is a celebration of Chinese culture and runs all weekend long!

Over 50 Chinese and Canadian performing arts organizations can be expected to perform with over 80 vendor booths.

When: Friday, August 30th – Monday, September 2nd

T.U Jazz Fest

Free outdoor music, bites from around the world, two stages and family-friendly festivities – need we say more?

T.U Jazz Fest will take over Mel Lastman Square all weekend long so grab the family or a friend and head over.

When: Friday, August 30th – Monday, September 2nd
Where: Mel Lastman Square, 5100 Yonge St
Cost: Free admission

CNE

This is the last weekend of the CNE so make sure to head over to enjoy the funky food, shows and rides!

When: Friday, August 30th – Monday, September 2nd
Where: Toronto’s Exhibition Place north of Lake Shore Boulevard West between Strachan & Dufferin Streets
Cost: $22.12+

Bark In The Park

A four-day event for your four-legged friends!

Guests that head over to Bark in The Park can expect interactive play areas, special photo ops, and a vibrant market featuring the best in pet products and services.

“Don’t miss out on the thrilling Dog Lovers Day Lure Course and amazing performances by The Ultimutts, featuring talented dog and cat stars,” shares the event page.

The event runs from Friday – Monday.

Toronto International BuskerFest

BuskerFest features a lineup of “mind-boggling circus acts, daring acrobatics, mesmerizing magic shows, hilarious comedy performances.”

Cost: Admission by $10 donation

Movies On The River

Enjoy a movie in a new unique way! Movies On The River gives Torontonians the opportunity to catch a flick from kayaks and canoes!

The Friday show will feature “Finding Nemo”. You can book your spot here and pick if you’d like to rent a kayak, canoe, or bring your own!

When: Friday, August 30th from 7:30 PM – 9:30 PM
Where: Down the “Discovery Walks” Road, 9 Old Mill Rd
Cost: $10 – $90

Wallows concert

Check out rock trio Wallows at Bud Stage on Friday!

Canadian International Air Show

The Canadian International Air Show (CIAS) is taking to city skies this weekend!

Known as Canada’s largest and longest-running air show, the CIAS will be celebrating the 51st season of the Canadian Forces Snow Birds.

The event is a “jam-packed air display showcasing modern military jets, vintage warbirds, [and] thrilling aerobatics” featuring a lineup of amazing performers.

When: Saturday, August 31st – Monday, September 2nd

Kensington Fest

This market/festival will have all the makings for a great Saturday: live music, food, drinks local vendors and vintage clothing.

Take in all Kensington has to offer!

Caribbean Street Food Festival

From games to delicious Caribbean classics like Doubles, Patty, Jerk Chicken and Ginger Beer – the Caribbean Street Food Festival is where it’s at this weekend!

Stackt Market is hosting the event and it’s free to attend!

When: Sunday, September 1st from 12:00 PM – 10:00 PM

Cigarettes After Sex concert

American dream pop band Cigarettes After Sex is heading to Toronto on Sunday.

The show is at Scotiabank Arena and tickets are still available starting at $179.

Cost: $179+ per ticket

Promise Cherry Beach

Cherry Beach’s beloved dance party is bringing the heat on Monday!

Enjoy drinks and dancing while DJs perform by the water all evening long. Tickets can be purchased here.

Usher concert

Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh my god.

Usher is performing in Toronto this long weekend! Tickets are available through Ticketmaster starting at $271 but there are some resale options for cheaper as well.

Soca or Die

The final Soca or Die event of the season is on Monday! Enjoy the sounds of international and local DJs!
