Old Strathcona Ghost Tours

On select nights from October 6 to 29, you’ll be able to face your biggest fears in Edmonton! Dark at Fort Edmonton Park has new haunting experiences at its event, which is celebrating 6 years of terror. “Survive a horde of undead in a defenceless frontier town. Escape the deranged killer clown whose grand gesture is murder. Dare to discover what nightmares are made during the witching hour,” states the event. We are scared just reading that.

Looking to see the stars in dark skies? You can join fellow night sky enthusiasts at Astotin Lake after dark! Elk Island National Park is a member of the Beaver Hills Dark Sky Preserve – and it is a perfect place to experience the stars and planets above! Be sure to register in advance.

Smoky Lake Pumpkin Fair & Great White North Weigh-Off
Located northeast of Edmonton, Smoky Lake is the official “pumpkin capital of Alberta,” and even hosts a festival every year attended by people all over the country. Highly anticipated by gourd enthusiasts and local fun-seekers, The Smoky Lake Pumpkin Fair gets bigger every year, much like the giant orange entries do at the annual weigh-off. This time around, they’ll kick things off on Thursday with a harvest dinner, before inviting everyone to indulge at the food trucks and a beer garden on Friday night.
