Home for the Holidays

Kick off the week and the holiday season with Edmonton Opera’s ‘Home for the Holidays.’ Now in it’s third year, this family-friendly concert promises “an evening of sing-along joy and the heartwarming story of Amahl and the Night Visitors.”

Winter Wagon Rides

Can you hear those sleigh bells jingling? This season, you can head to Ford Edmonton Park to discover the magic of winter, admire twinkling lights while bundled up for a festive horse-drawn wagon ride.

There will be a hot chocolate stop, and a toasty bonfire in the end!

The Griswold House

Every year, holiday enthusiasts claim they take decorating more seriously than others – but few could outshine Jon Harringa, an Alberta man who (we can only imagine) has quite the power bill!

Located in Stony Plain about a half hour out outside of Edmonton, those who can appreciate the time it takes to put up a single strand of lights have to check out the true-to-film Griswold house – inspired by the holiday classic National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. Interested in checking it out for yourself? The house is free to visit.
