Friday is nearly here and October isn’t far behind. This time around, in addition to several incredibly important events commemorating this year’s National Day For Truth and Reconciliation, folks are encouraged to get outside and explore while the weather is still nice. Not sure what’s happening? Here are 10 things to do this weekend in Calgary.

ATTEND THE U OF C’S PANEL DISCUSSION

Held in partnership with UCalgary’s Office of Indigenous Engagement, the Calgary Public Library will hold a panel discussion with guest speakers, Cora Voyageur, Lee Crowchild, and Kathleen Mahoney. During this event, participants will revisit the final report on Truth and Reconciliation in light of the papal visit and Canada’s unmarked graves, as well as the path forward.

WEAR ORANGE AND VISIT FORT CALGARY

This Friday, wear orange and take a free walking tour of Fort Calgary Park where your guide will confront the colonial history of the area and share insights on what they have learned about reconciliation so far.

WINSPORT HAUNTED MINI GOLF

Things are about to get scary competitive! This weekend, ghouls and goblins alike are encouraged to check out this adorable 18-hole course of frights and fun. Good luck and enjoy.
