Well, the time has finally come. It is the last official weekend of summer. We aren’t crying (much), since fall is apparently not going to be too cold yet. KALEIDO FAMILY ARTS FESTIVAL

From September 16 to 18, Arts on the Ave and Kaleido are presenting Kaleido Family Arts Festival 2022: Heart in Living Colour! Kaleido is coming back to the Ave, “bringing light and joy and filling hearts with music, art, and acts that are a wonder to behold, and (as always) free to the community!”

KULTURA FILIPINO FESTIVAL

Experience the best of the Philippine islands right here in Edmonton! This festival will feature delectable cuisine, traditional folk dances, music and the arts.

GATEWAY TO THE STARS

If you weren’t aware, Elk Island is in the heart of one of Canada’s largest ‘dark sky preserves‘. The ‘Gateway to the Stars’ experience returns to Elk Island, with a night this Friday.

IMMERSIVE CINEMA EXPERIENCE

The Summer SolstICE event series continues in ICE District Plaza with the third and final Immersive Cinema Experience (ICE) of the season. It will feature a screening of the acclaimed musical drama The Greatest Showman.

Want to check out a concert this weekend? Into the wide world of hip-hop we go. At the tender age of 19, this Memphis rapper has racked up millions of YouTube views and followers, alongside working with some of the biggest names in the business.

EDMONTON NEGRONI WEEK

It’s back! Negroni Week launched in 2013 as a celebration of one of the world’s great cocktails and an effort to raise money for charitable causes around the world. You can check it out at one of several bars in the city this week.

EDMONTON FANCY WOMEN BIKE RIDE

The international Fancy Women Bike Ride arrived in Edmonton last year, and it returns this weekend! According to organizers, it is a women-focussed, trans-inclusive cycling event held annually on the Sunday closest to World Car Free Day.

ACTIVATE EDMONTON

Listen up, Edmonton! There’s a new arcade centre open in the city, but it’s nothing like the ones you’ve been to before. Activate Edmonton claims to be the world’s first active gaming facility, where you and your friends compete in a series of challenges that are basically life-sized arcade games. It just opened, so head over and check it out!
