Summer is slowly winding down in Edmonton, and we’re getting a mix bag when it comes to the weather this weekend. But it is the last full weekend in August, so let’s make the most of it! Here are 10 things to do in and around Edmonton this weekend!

Edmonton Pride

Edmonton Pride continues this weekend! On Friday, check out Retro Retro for an 80/ 90’s Dance Party, and don’t miss the big Pride @ Churchill Square event on Saturday.

Metallica

The legends Metallica will be in Edmonton this weekend for two dates. On Friday, August 23rd, the support will be Pantera and Mammoth WVH. And later on the weekend, on Sunday, August 25th you can catch Five Finger Death Punch and Ice Nine Kills.

Monster Truck Throwdown

Get ready for an adrenaline-pumping experience at Monster Truck Throwdown, which kicks off on Friday. There will be eighyt Incredible Trucks with high-flying thrills, larger-than-life fire-breathing machines, and jaw-dropping stunts!

Midsummer Night Market

Get ready for a magical Friday evening at the Midsummer Night Market. Get ready to shop, sip on refreshments and explore local talent.

The Princess Bride

The Capitol Theatre’s August feature is The Princess Bride. If you haven’t seen this classic yet, get ready for an adventure (and true love).

YEGO 2024

Edmonton’s #1 LEGO festival is back and will be bigger and better than ever, so, be sure to head to Mill Woods Town Centre this weekend. There will be a LEGO soccer tournament, a free build zone among other events!

Edmonton Chinatown’s Summer Festival

The Chinatown Business Association is hosting Edmonton Chinatown’s Summer Festival this weekend. Expect local talent, merchants, vendors, delicious food trucks, lion and dragon dances, local performers, cultural games, and art. There will be free bouncy castles, cotton candy, face painting and more.

Ukrainian Day

Edmonton’s Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Village is celebrating the rich history, traditions, and contributions of the Ukrainian community in Alberta. It all takes place on Sunday with music, a market, and children’s activities.

ESO Outdoors

ESO Outdoors is back this weekend for its final event. Treat yourself to a concert at the Heritage Park Pavilion on Sunday afternoon.

Edmonton International Fringe Theatre Festival

For those looking for something a little more funky and indie, you’ll feel right at home at the Edmonton Fringe Festival. The 43rd annual Edmonton International Fringe Theatre Festival is “set to spotlight 216 theatre productions across 38 venues, with performances by more than 1,600 Artists from right here at home, across Canada, and more than 11 countries!” This is the final weekend to check it out!
