Chinook Blast

This Friday, DT Calgary is all set to transform into a gorgeous winter wonderland yet again. Yes, it’s Chinook Blast time folks. The beloved winter festival extravaganza is back with dazzling light displays, live performances, outdoor adventure and a lot more to keep you busy all weekend long.

Deadly Murder

Catch “Deadly Murder” at the Vertigo Theatre this week!

The Big Bang Parody A Musical

Experience The Big Bang Parody: A Musical! Join Sheldon and the gang for a cosmic adventure filled with catchy songs, hilarious antics, and plenty of heart. But with this show, you’ll also get a multi-course dinner.  Expect appetizers, a choice of dinner entrée and a choice of dessert.

Candlelight Concert

A live quartet will be playing some of your favourite tunes by legendary musicians in a setting of candles surrounding the performers and the audience – sounds magical.

It isn’t hard to guess why the Candlelight Concert series has earned its reputation for bringing exquisite musical experiences, and they have a great line-up for concerts this week as well – Adele, Coldplay and Fleetwood Mac, just to name a few.

Curling on St. Patrick’s Island

If you’re looking for some icy fun closer to home, St. Patrick’s Island is the place to be. Yes, East Village is bringing back its popular synthetic curling rink at Confluence Plaza. The activity is open to curlers of all ages and skill levels. Plus, it’s free.

Servus Tube Park at Winsport

Sure, skiing is known as one of the best winter activities, but that’s certainly not the only way to enjoy the powder.

You can also go zooming down a groomed slope in a snow tube at Servus Tube Park. Plus, they have a magic carpet to whisk you back to the top.

Mecha Mayhem

Get ready for Canada’s largest robotics showdown hosted in Calgary. This action-packed robotics competition will have over 260 teams from around the world fight for the Mecha Mayhem Tournament Championship title and a spot at the VEX Robotics World Championships in Dallas, Texas. Cheer them on!

Penguin Walk – Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo

It’s that time of the year again when you can see King penguins take their winter strolls on the grounds of Calgary Zoo.

Yes, the Penguin Walk is back for its 14th year. Make sure to visit the King penguins before the season ends!

Hygge Hut

East Village’s Danish-inspired Hygge Hut is back for another season. Grab a hot drink, snuggle up by the fire, and enjoy some quality time with friends or family. It’s the perfect spot to take a break from the winter chill and soak in some good vibes.

When: until March 2025 (Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays)

Central Commons Park skating

One of the best ways to amp up winter evenings is to lace up the skates, and you can do it for free at Central Commons Park’s beautiful outdoor rink.

To make your night even better, the rink is surrounded by cozy fireplaces and twinkling lights.
