10 of the best things to do in & around Calgary this week (December 2-6)

New week, new month! As always, we hope you’ve had a lovely few days but we’re back and kicking off the holiday season! From concerts and light displays to markets and festivals, here are 10 things that you can do in Calgary this time around!

Dinner and a Movie – Elf

Calgary Flames

Rich The Kid

Saskatoon Farm Christmas Market

Looking for a unique gift or some fresh air? This week you can visit the Saskatoon Christmas Market where local artists, bakers, and pro crafters will be selling their goods and services!

Airdrie Festival of Lights

It’s here! From now until the rest of the month, wander Western Canada’s largest outdoor walk-through display! Here, you can drink hot chocolate, take a lap around the ice rink, snap a few photos, and cozy up next to their fire.

Where: Nose Creek Regional Park, Airdrie, AB

Plaza Palooza 

While the public will not be able to do laps around the Olympic Plaza’s Christmas tree this year, adventure-seekers will be encouraged to check out Calgary’s ‘Plaza Palooza,’ an eight-day celebration with entertainment, games, and food. Enjoy and stay warm!

When: December 6-8, 13-15, 20-22, 2024

Legacy Lights

Celebrate community! This week, hit Legacy’s Community Light Display. This free event will light the night with over a million tiny bulbs strung up on everything from the clock tower to the houses and it’s going to be breathtaking!

ZOOLIGHTS

It’s back, Calgary! The ZOOLIGHTS have returned and in addition to enjoying a hot chocolate, or hanging out next to a bonfire, you can take a walk under a twinkling blanket of stars and lights.

Where: Calgary Zoo, 210 St. George’s Drive NE
Time: 5 p.m.

Scott Helman

This week, catch Canadian ‘Bungalow’ singer Scott Helman at Commonwealth Bar and Stage in Calgary. Tickets start at $38 and are on sale now! You won’t want to miss it.
