Get ready, Vancouver, because Labour Day weekend is nearly here, and so are a ton of big-name concerts, summer fun, and this year’s TAIWANfest and global market. So with that in mind, here are 12 of the best things to do in and around Vancouver this weekend (August 30-September 2).
An iconic rapper that got his start in the early 2000s, Ludacris is taking the stage at Vancouver’s Pacific Coliseum on August 30th.

There’s still time to check out this year’s massive Aritzia Warehouse Sale, with new styles being added daily. So if you’re on the hunt for a warm winter jacket or a couple of fall staples, it’s worth checking out if you’re in the area.

From 11 am to 6 pm from Saturday, August 31st to Monday, September 2nd, the largest Dutch event in BC will transform the 500 block of Granville Street into a lively Dutch Street Market, delighting visitors with travelling exhibits, street food, live DJ sets, art installations, and pop-up shops.

This Labour Day weekend, downtown Vancouver is transforming for this year’s TAIWANfest, complete with a first-ever artist market with global vendors, an array of cultural dance and music performances, and art exhibits.

This weekend, Holland Park in Surrey is transforming for Vancouver’s largest halal food event, which will feature tons of 100% halal BBQ and street food eats, as well as a pop-up market, live entertainment, and exciting kids zone.

Kings of Leon are a Nashville-formed rock band consisting of brothers Caleb, Nathan, and Jared Followill and their cousin Matthew Followill – and they’re bringing their ‘Can We Please Have Fun’ tour to Rogers Arena at the tail end of August.

Ready to immerse yourself in a sea of vibrant sunflowers? Head to Richmond for its Sunflower Festival, with 20 acres of sunflowers and dahlias to peruse. Open as long as the sunflowers are in bloom, the festival operates from noon to 7 pm on weekdays and from 10 am to 7 pm on weekends and holidays.

This weekend is your last chance to make a big splash at BC’s largest waterpark. So take advantage of the shining sun and long weekend and go make some core memories.
