A massive new neighbourhood is on its way to the city and with it, a whole bunch of new spots to eat, drink, and shop. The Well will occupy 8 acres of Toronto’s downtown core, along the western side of Spadina Avenue from Wellington to Front.
When it’s complete, it will have over 1 million square feet of office space, six residential towers with over 1,700 suites total, a large event venue, a retail centre, and a food market.
Representatives of The Well have confirmed to Curiocity that both the food market and retail centre are set to open in the coming months.

The shopping centre will span 420,000 sq ft across four levels and “fluidly designed” indoor and outdoor space.
It will be home to new flagship stores, pop-up shops, and popular brands in fashion, beauty, fitness, health, home decor, and more.
Among the confirmed retailers are the immersive exhibit Arcadia Earth, Sweat and Tonic, HealthOne, Bailey Nelson, and the first Canadian location of New York City’s popular Prince Street Pizza.
The Well told Curiocity that details about the newest tenants moving into the retail centre will be released in the coming weeks.
Also coming to The Well is Wellington Market, a 70,000 squre foot hall described as Toronto’s “newest go-to location for market fresh and artisan food, culinary exploration and experiences to share.”
The liquor-licensed market will have a row of restaurants headed by renowned chefs, as well as a large event venue, and many vendors selling fresh, local produce, and artisan fare.
The vendors coming soon to the market include La Cubana, Hooky’s Fish & Chips, Ren Sushi, a new Korean-focused concept, Chun Yang Tea, Lobster Burger Bar, Rosie’s Burgers, Isabella’s Mochi Donuts, and Sweetie Pie.
The Wellington Market is scheduled to open in mid-November, said the representatives to Curiocity.
The Well will be opening in stages throughout summer and fall. It will be completed with a public grand celebration in mid-November.
The downtown core is about to transform in a big way, and we’re here for it.
