We all know that the past year-plus has been really rough. But despite all that, people still find ways to be happy. And as it turns out some places are way happier than others. So while things in the United States might seem really rough sometimes, we’re actually one of the happiest countries in the world.

Despite the pandemic, police violence, and turbulent election, the United States landed amongst the top 20 happiest countries in the world. In fact, we came in at 14th place. We were happier than Canada and just behind Ireland. And unsurprisingly, the top 3 happiest countries were Finland, Iceland, and Denmark.
