Yesterday, the folks over at the Sea to Sky Gondola released a little update on their attempts to get the attraction back up and running. Luckily, everything seems to be on track! Here’s a summary of what’s going on.
Last fall, the Sea to Sky Gondola was vandalized for the second time in as many years. But, in a small silver lining, the damage wasn’t as serious as the first time, so cleanup was a little bit of a quicker process.

And, the gondola’s European suppliers have been hard at work getting replacements. Both the new cable and the cars have been ordered, with the cable en route already. Finally, the owners have consulted with security specialists, resulting in measures that are almost unheard of in the lift industry.
All said, they’re expecting to be back up and running by the end of spring/start of summer. Fingers crossed that we can get back out there this year!
