8. Community Involvement

Companies of any size can throw their name in the ring, so long as they are headquartered in Canada. So, the list includes everything from multinational behemoths (3M Canada and Shopify) to schools (University of Toronto and Simon Fraser University) to companies that, frankly, we’ve never heard of before (GSoft and Zymeworks, Inc.).
