Hakuna Matata! Disney’s ‘The Lion King’ is coming to Vancouver

Broadway lovers, this is for you. One of the most popular stage musicals in the world is coming to Vancouver in the 2024-2025 touring season, and you won’t want to miss it. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, and you’ll sing along to nostalgic and award-winning tunes like “Hakuna Matata” and “Can You Feel the Love Tonight.” Yes, we’re talking about The Lion King!

Seen by over 112 million people since its debut, this beloved show has delighted audiences across the globe for 25 years. During its time onstage, the musical has earned six Tony Awards and over 70 major arts awards, including the 1999 Grammy for “Best Musical Show Album.”

Not only does it feature Elton John and Tim Rice’s songs from the animated film, but it will also introduce first-time audience members to additional music by Lebo M, Mark Mancina, Jay Rifkin, Julie Taymor and Hans Zimmer.

Since its debut, the beloved tale has been translated into nine different languages, and performed in every continent except Antarctica.

So if you’re ready to relive the magic of Disney’s ‘The Lion King’  or experience it for the first time, get excited.

The Lion King will return to Queen Elizabeth Theatre during the 2024-2025 Broadway season, so stay tuned for upcoming performance dates and ticket availability.
