Filmed entirely in Alberta, HBO’sThe Last Of Us has become one of the network’s most anticipated TV shows since it was first announced in 2021. Luckily, for those who have been waiting on the edge of their seats to see it hit the small screen, there is finally a premiere window in sight- according to a new report.

Starring Pedro Pascal (The Mandalorian) and Bella Ramsey (Game of Thrones), this dystopian video game adaption follows Joel, a smuggler as he escorts a young girl across post-apocalyptic America.

Up until recently, showrunners have been pretty hush-hush about production, sharing only two behind-the scenes-photos and hinting that it would premiere next year.

Now, we’ll admit, Albertans have been incredibly fortunate throughout the entire process – getting to see sets up close and personal, but it has made us only want to see the show even more.

So – when will we finally be able to see all the action come to life?

Well, in a new recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Chief Content Officer for HBO, Casey Bloys confirmed that we would finally see the Playstation favourite knock fans off their feet come the new year.

“It’s [expected to arrive] closer to early 2023,” he said.

Until then, get ready and stay ready.

Whether it be the ‘undead action’ or an inevitably touching story that you’re most excited to see play out, it won’t be too much longer until we finally get a glimpse of what they’ve been working on.

Who knows – sooner or later they may even grace us with a trailer and wouldn’t that be something.
