After a few weeks of pop-ups at local breweries, it looks like Vennie’s Sub Shop has found a place to call home permanently. The latest venture from Lindsey Mann and Doug Stephen (of DL Chicken and DownLow Burgers) completes, in our opinion, the holy trinity of North American handheld goodness. Here’s a little more info.

Vennie’s Sub Shop is offering four different sandwiches to start out. These include a classic deli sandwich (salami, soppressata and mortadella), a smoked beef option, a corned beef sandwich, and a soy poached chicken sandwich. Somewhat surprisingly, they’ve also got a plant-based ‘corned mushroom’ option which we’re super curious about. And that’s just to while they’re getting their legs under them!

Ever the collaborators, the shop has already tapped Livia for some of the buns and Aftermath BBQ for the smoked beef. So, it’s clear that Vennie’s has hit the ground running, and we’re excited to see what’s in store for the spot. Heck, we might even have to slap it in our recent list of the best sandwich shops in Vancouver. We consider ourselves big time sandwich buffs, after all. Maybe we’ll try it out this Friday.

We’re just scared that if we do, we’ll be going back every Friday until we run out of options. It’s a good problem to have, though.
