The Distillery Winter Village in Toronto to unveil 50-foot Christmas tree next week

The Toronto Christmas Market is making a comeback in 2021, but with a new look, feel and name. Now, Toronto will be able to have all of its festive fun at The Distillery Winter Village, a reimagined and rebranded version of the Toronto Christmas Market that is kicking things off with the unveiling of a giant 50-foot tall Christmas tree on November 1.

Yes, the end of October means it’s time to get ready for the holidays! Even if you aren’t quite ready yet…

Unfortunately, for those hoping to see a giant tree filled to the brim with holiday decorations, you’ll have to wait a few weeks for the tree-lighting ceremony. This ticketed event will showcase ‘60,000 twinkling lights, over 600 giant decorative ornaments, and 2 km of garland’ and will happen on November 18th at 6 PM. The tree, sourced from nearby Milton, ON,  ‘will serve as the centerpiece for The Distillery Winter Village and will be sitting pretty in Trinity Square, right in the heart of The Distillery District.

The Distillery Winter Village is not only a rebrand of the beloved Toronto Christmas Market but will also feature a more ‘‘intimate, elevated event’, according to a release shared with Curiocity.

Tickets for the holiday village, which will be required Fridays after 4 PM, and Saturdays and Sundays, and tickets for the tree-lighting ceremony will go on sale November 1.
