Nothing screams “Toronto summer” quite like a trip to The Ex. As you all know, in 2020 that joy was taken from us thanks to the ongoing COVID-19 situation. The fair was cancelled for the first time since World War II. But this summer the CNE is back in business, baby. The fair just officially confirmed it to a number of news outlets.

“We are following Public Health Guidelines very carefully and will be proceeding unless governmental stipulations prevent us from doing so,” Director of Marketing and Communications, Karen Lynch, told 680 News. As long as it’s safe to do so, the CNE plans to go on as normal.

Of course, it’s possible there will be a few regulations to help keep things as safe as possible. But that’s nothing we aren’t used to by now, right?

So needless to say, this is pretty stellar news for the people of Toronto. Although the fair held an online version this past summer, the beloved tradition just wasn’t same. Nothing beats cheap rides, carnival games, and the sweet sweet smells of the food building, right?

So mark your calendars, people. We’re crossing our fingers that this year, COVID-19 won’t get in the way of our favourite Toronto summer activity.

Let’s go to The Ex!
